Turkish Student Visas

Foreign nationals are required to obtain a student visa for the duration of their academic stay. This visa is required for entrance into the country and registration at the university. Upon receiving your admission letter from OzU GSB, you should apply directly and in person to your local Turkish Embassy or Consulate. During the processing of your application, you may also be asked to provide proof of financial ability to cover your educational expenses for your study at Ozyegin University. You should allow up to 6-8 weeks for visa processing.

Residence Permit

A residence permit is an official document declaring registration at the Bureau of Foreign Residence. All foreign nationals must register with the bureau within one month of entering Turkey in order to obtain a residence permit. The OzU International Office will assist you in securing this document. Please note that students must enter Turkey on a “student visa” in order to obtain a residence permit.

Housing

In addition to its own dormitories, OzU has established various student-housing arrangements with the local municipality. International students are given priority in housing assignments. Detailed information on various options will be provided upon application.

Working While Studying

In order to work legally in Turkey, you must obtain a work permit. However, foreign nationals are not allowed to have both a valid student visa and a work permit simultaneously. Your only option to work while studying is to enroll in a work-study program at OzU as a teaching/research assistant for a professor or as a part-time aide in an administrative office at OzU.

International Student Orientation

Moving to another country can be a stressful experience; however, the OzU International Office is eager to assist you in your transition. Before the start of the program, the Office will organize an International Student Orientation for all incoming international students.
