    When was Özyeğin University Faculty of Architecture and Design Established? 

    Özyeğin University Faculty of Architecture and Design was founded in 2008 as the fifth faculty of Özyeğin University. The first students of the Faculty of Architecture and Design Architecture (Turkish) Program had been graduated in the spring semester of 2015-2016 academic year.

    Architecture, interior architecture and environmental design, industrial product design, communication design undergraduate programs are the areas where visual representation studies are very common. However, the university candidates, drawing, painting, rather than the ability to; critical thinking and system building skills are expected.

    What are the Physical Opportunities of Özyeğin University Faculty of Architecture and Design?

     In the Faculty of Architecture and Design, the studios used by the students in the design studios and practical courses are equipped with work units consisting of a desk, office chair, utility closet and caisson for each student. The faculty has a fully equipped (laser cutter, 3D CNC router, 3D printer, vacuum forming machine, jigsaw, lathe, column drill, circular saw and so on) model workshop, PC lab, MAC Laboratory .

    Faculty of Architecture and Design will be moved to Academic Building 4 in February 2020. In this building, by developing the existing studio infrastructure, in addition to its existing laboratories, it will have VR laboratory, digital model workshop, seramic and modelling workshop, media laboratory, design-build laboratory, user experience laboratory, material and building physics laboratory.

    Özyeğin University Faculty of Architecture and Design has several workshops and certificate programs in collaboration with Özyeğin University Continuing Education Academy and ÖzÜ / İstanbul Design Institute. In addition, Dean of Faculty, department presidents, Architecture and Design Club organizations, national and international conferences, seminars, exhibitions, workshops and technical trips are organized with the participation of professionals.

    Does Özyeğin University Faculty of Architecture and Design have a Student Club?

    Architecture and Design Club (OzU-CAD) is a student club founded by the students of the Faculty of Architecture and Design. Faculty students can become members and managers of other clubs in the university.

    Is there an Orientation Program at Özyeğin University Faculty of Architecture and Design? How is it executed?

    The orientation program of the Faculty of Architecture and Design is also included in the scope of general undergraduate student orientation organized before the beginning of the academic term at Özyeğin University. In addition, the Faculty-Time studies are conducted for the students who are continuing their English preparatory education at the School of Foreign Languages and the questions of the preparatory students about undergraduate education are answered.

    Although each program has a separate course plan, design studios, which have the highest credits and hours among the compulsory undergraduate program courses in general terms, constitute the backbone of the course plans. Mandatory courses supporting design studios; lectures on conventional and digital expression and presentation techniques, history of art and architecture-industrial design-communication design, architectural conservation, construction, construction and manufacturing. In addition, there are departmental, faculty and non-faculty elective courses and university compulsory courses.

    Within the scope of non-faculty elective courses, courses from other faculty undergraduate programs or elective courses from other undergraduate programs of the faculty can be taken.
