Özyeğin University Ranked Third Among Foundation Universities in Turkey in the IU GreenMetric World University Ranking 2016
 
Özyeğin University ranked third among foundation universities in Turkey in the IU GreenMetric World University Ranking 2016. The ranking assesses the world’s greenest universities based on 6 (six) main indicators including environmental setting, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education.
 
Open to all higher education institutions across the globe, the GreenMetric World University Ranking was launched by Universitas Indonesia (UI) (University of Indonesia) in 2010 with a primary focus on environment, economy, and equality.
 
Özyeğin University applied for the GreenMetric ranking for the second time this year. Bülent Ecevit University headed the ranking, while Sabancı University, Boğaziçi University, TOBB  University of Economics and Technology, and Özyeğin University were placed second, third, fourth and fifth, respectively, among the 17 universities that applied from Turkey in the overall rankings.
 
Özyeğin University’s positions by indicators in the GreenMetric ranking among the participating universities in Turkey are as follows:
 
First in the overall ranking based on the Water indicator,
 
First among the private/foundation universities based on the Education indicator,
 
Second among the private/foundation universities based on the Transportation indicator,
 
Third among the private/foundation universities based on the Setting and Infrastructure indicator,
 
Third among the private/foundation universities based on the Energy and Climate Change indicator,
 
Fourth among the private/foundation universities based on the Waste indicator.
