Our Senior Industrial Engineering Student İrem Karamete Won Parat Ripost’s “Fencer of the Year” Awar

İrem Karamete is the Fencer of the Year

İrem Karamete, our senior Industrial Engineering student who made an exceptional contribution to the history of fencing in Turkey by representing Turkey during the Rio 2016 Olympics, was honored by Parat Ripost’s “Fencer of the Year” Award. 

Last year, after winning the Qualification Tournament held in Prague in April, our successful foil fencer had represented Turkey during the Rio 2016 Olympics, ending a 32-year hiatus.

İrem truly left her mark in 2016 with her outstanding achievements, and her achievements did not go unnoticed. In recognition of her exceptional accomplishments, İrem was awarded the Fencer of the Year Award by the Parat Ripost Sports Club. Our distinguished athlete received her award during an awards ceremony held on January 6, 2017.
