Mission

Özyeğin University strives to be one of the premier entrepreneurial research universities of Turkey. Its mission is to create, share, and apply knowledge in the service to society. At Özyeğin, we are motivated to conduct research that is relevant to life, beneficial to the humankind and targeted to increase the quality of our lives. As a research university, we aim to educate future leaders through the process of discovery and creation of new knowledge. In addition to working as world-renowned, active researchers in their fields of expertise, our faculty members are also known as individuals who have experience in putting the results of their research into practice by establishing new companies and/or collaborating with different institutions.

Global Impact

We know how important it is to be an active contributor to the world through scientific innovative advancements, and we appreciate the efforts that produce solutions in this way. Therefore, we expect our academics and students to conduct original research and publish their findings in internationally well-recognized scientific journals of their fields.

Integrated with Education

We share our knowledge through our educational programs. We support their lifecycles and transformational journeys at Özyeğin. Our graduates will be known for making a difference for their employers. We place as much importance to excellence in research and graduate studies as we do to excellence in undergraduate education. For our students to gain research competence, we include applied courses, independent study and dissertations in our curriculum. We encourage our graduate students to work in laboratories and research centers. We direct our graduate students to work with a faculty member on a research project starting from day one of their education.

Focus on Commercialization

We know that research provides the basis for sustainable economic growth as it is converted into technology by development. For this reason, application of our scientific studies is targeted to generate economic benefits to the society through start-up and spinout companies, and through improved efficiency and productivity for existing companies. Our researchers are encouraged and expected to be a part of such activities to contribute to the world of practice through producing actionable knowledge for products, processes, and procedures in the areas of their specializations.

Global Collaboration

Özyeğin University is a national and international actor of research and collaborates with national and international organizations. Our researchers are strongly encouraged and supported to get into partnerships with other researchers at national and international institutions.

Commitment to Support

Özyeğin University provides its members physical, as well as intellectual facilities to work hard to realize its mission in research. Özyeğin campus is furnished with a growing number of research labs and facilities. The Özyeğin library has unlimited access to the existing knowledge base. Özyeğin University is also an advocate of the freedom of its members to discover, debate and disseminate knowledge that form the ingredients for conducting cutting-edge research.
