With the objective of contributing to social development by producing original, creative and applicable knowledge with a modern education system, an innovative structure integrated with life and education programs focusing on the service sector, the foundation processes of our university were initiated by the Husnu M. Özyeğin Foundation in Autumn 2005, and the university has been officially founded under Law No. 5656, published in the Official Gazette No. 26526 on 18 May 2007.
Our university was inaugurated in September 2008 with the admission of the first students to the Undergraduate Business Administration Program following the Student Selection Examination (OSS).
In our university, the language of instruction is English. However, in line with our objective of becoming an international university, some courses will be delivered in a second foreign language in order to prepare our students for the future by enabling them to learn a second foreign language. The students admitted to the university are required to prove their proficiency in English language in order to start their undergraduate program.The students who are able to prove their proficiency in English are entitled to directly start their undergraduate studies, while others are enrolled to a one-year English Language Preparatory Program.

Our university initiated its educational activities in September 2008 with the admission of its students to the Undergraduate Business Administration Program and will initiate other education programs as of September 2009 to reach its full capacity within the following 7 to 8 years.
Our university will be a campus university. However, it has welcomed its first students in its temporary campus in Altunizade, Istanbul. With the gradual increase in the number of our students, we plan to move to our new campus which will be constructed in Istanbul.
Our university will be financially accessible to students from different segments of society in the framework of an effective financial support model. For this purpose, our university, by breaking new grounds, provides educational loans for undergraduate studies to aid the academically brillant students who have limited financial resources to cover their tuition or who wish to undertake the financial liability of their own education. Educational Loan is an effective financial support model developed by Özyeğin University itself which enables the students to pay a certain portion of the tuition following the graduation under favorable terms and conditions.
For the Academic Year 2008-2009, the tuition for the students enrolled to the undergraduate programs is YTL24.000, inclusive of VAT, including the English Language Prepatory Program. Since our university has allocated its quota solely to the scholarship students for the Academic Year 2008-2009, the annual tuition fees, inclusive of VAT, to be paid by the students based on the selected programs are as follows:
Honor Scholarship:
Achievement Scholarship: 6.000 YTL
Support Scholarship: 12.000 YTL
We have designed a scholarship system from which all academically brilliant, hard-working students at our university can benefit. Apart from the scholarship opportunities provided during the admission process to the university, scholarship opportunities will also be granted to outstanding students during the course of their studies, and their performance will thus be rewarded.
Student clubs, sports and arts groups will enliven university life and contribute to the education of students as cultivated individuals with multiple interests. With their flexible structures, clubs will help create a lively and colorful academic environment, enable individual interests and skills to be carried into the social environment and provide students with the opportunities to acquire greater organizational awareness.
Our temporary Altunizade campus currently does not provide on-campus housing. Neverthless for 20% of our students, we have reserved placements at off-campus housings in the vicinity for female/male students. The university will provide the necessary guidance for the concerned dorms.
In case of any health problems, all students can use the Healthcare Center. If required, the students will be referred to another healthcenter for further examinations and test by our physicians.
The university catering services aim to easily meet the needs of our students. The campus houses a dining hall and a cafeteria offering fast-food options as well. It is also possible to find a large variety of restaurants and cafes in the vicinity thanks to the central location of the campus.
Centrally located in Altunizade, Istanbul, our campus provides easy access. Public transportation is available at every corner of the city to reach our campus. The registered students may also use the shuttle buses provided by the university.
