Özyeğin University Industrial and Systems Engineering Department invites applications for a Research Assistant, starting Fall 2009. The Research Assistant will work under close supervision by more experienced researchers, performing quantitative and qualitative research involving large scale optimization, supply chain management, operations management, and decision support systems. Teaching assistantship duties are also a part of the job. Candidate must be self-motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a group, and able to juggle multiple projects and responsibilities. An M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field is required. Fluent written and oral English is a must, as well as experience with Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with ARENA, AutoCAD, CPLEX, Java, Visual Basic, and similar software is a plus.
Özyeğin University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department invites applications for full-time research assistantship and post-doctoral research fellowship positions in the areas of wireless communications, signal processing, multimedia communications, and networks and next-generation Internet. The research assistantship candidates must have M.S. degrees and post-doctoral candidates must have Ph.D. degrees in CS/CE/EE before joining Özyeğin. Excellent verbal and written skills in English are required. The candidates are expected to pursue collaborative research with the faculty. Solid background in computer programming, signals and systems, probability theory, telecommunication systems is necessary. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications. The positions are available immediately and screening will continue until the positions are filled.

Özyeğin University is a newly established, private and not-for-profit university in Istanbul, Turkey, where language of instruction and research is English. Özyeğin University invites applications for faculty positions at all ranks in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. The following focus areas are emphasized for each of these three disciplines, although exceptional candidates in all topical areas would be considered. Electrical Engineering focus areas include signal/image Processing, VLSI, electronics, antennas and microwaves, wireless communications, computer networks and biomedical applications. ME Areas cover all fundamental disciplines, particularly energy, energy systems and devices, manufacturing in traditional and emerging areas, including nano- and micro-scale applications, advanced materials, sustainability, robotics, automotive, transportation and biomedical applications. CS focus areas are software engineering, networking, security, artificial intelligence, graphics, databases, human-computer interaction, computer vision and perception, robotics, bio-informatics, high-performance computing, and computer systems. High priority will be given to the originality and promise of the candidate's work. Applicant's entrepreneurial interests and experience will be a big plus.
A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science or a closely related discipline, evidence of the ability for establishing and maintaining a research program and a strong commitment to teaching are required. A successful candidate will be expected to create a research program, supervise Master's and Ph.D. students, obtain competitive grants, and teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. The compensation package will be commensurate to skills and rank, and will be highly competitive.
