OzU Gender Equality Unit Has Become The First Turkish Institution To Be A Member Of RINGS
Ozyegin University Gender Equality Unit has become the first institution in Turkey to become a member of The International Research Association of Institutions of Advanced Gender Studies (RINGS). With over 60 members from 32 countries, RINGS was established in 2014 and is located at the Institute of Thematic Gender Studies, a three-university co-operation between Karlstad, Linköping and Orebro universities in Sweden.
The principal purpose of RINGS, which brings together leading research institutes and centres engaged in gender and feminist research, is to promote advanced and transformative research in transnational cooperation between member institutions. RINGS seeks to advance disciplinary and transdisciplinary gender research to address social inequalities that have gendered roots and consequences.
With these aims, RINGS members gather in the annual conferences hosted by member institutions. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the only organisation in 2020 will be the online General Assembly and OzU Gender Equality Unit will be a participant of this event as a member.
