IEEE Computer Society Honors Our Student Mehmet Onur Keskin and Hüseyin Yapıcı with the Prestigious Richard E. Merwin Student Scholarship

Our students Mehmet Onur Keskin and Hüseyin Yapıcı have been honored with the prestigious Richard E. Merwin Student Scholarship by the IEEE Computer Society to further their academic studies. With this award, Mehmet Onur Keskin, an Özyeğin University Computer Science graduate, and a senior student in the Master’s Program in Artificial Intelligence at Özyeğin University, and Hüseyin Yapıcı, a thesis student in the Master’s Program in in Computer Science, will serve as student ambassadors on the board of this prestigious institution and also receive support to develop new projects.

We congratulate our students and Prof. Fatih Uğurdağ, our Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the President of the IEEE Turkey who supported our students on this journey, as well as Dr. Reyhan Aydoğan, our faculty member and the academic advisor of Mehmet Onur Keskin, and Associate Prof. Hasan Sözer, our faculty member and the academic advisor of Hüseyin Yapıcı.

This award has been presented since 1982 in honor of the late Richard E. Merwin, former president of the IEEE Computer Society, to promising students around the world who have demonstrated successful student leadership in this field.
