General Electric Innovation Center opens at ÖzÜ-X Building
Conducting studies for the purpose of reinforcing local innovation in Turkey, General Electric (GE) has joined forces with our University and started to operate within our ÖzÜ-X building.
GE Innovation Center’s inauguration was hosted by our university’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mr. Hüsnü Özyeğin and our Rector Prof. Dr. Ms. Esra Gençtürk with the participation of the Head and CEO of GE Middle East, North Africa and Turkey Mr. Nabik Habayeb and the Head and the General Manager of GE Turkey Executive Board Ms. Canan M. Özsoy.
Collaborating with our University with the aim of strengthening entrepreneurship culture and digital ecosystem in Turkey, GE will also lead the “innovation together” mentality that has been newly developing across the globe. Being open to anybody from senior executives of the business world to our students, the center will serve as an industrial innovation platform with our academicians, students, industry and stakeholders.
The collaboration will allow a next-generation university and industry cooperation, which will contribute to the industrial internet open to innovation, to be formed. In this center where our students and entrepreneurs will be able to practically experience the garage equipment of GE such as CNC workbenches, laser cutters, 3D printers and injection devices, it is aimed to develop innovative solutions depending on customers’ needs. Within the framework of this cooperation, GE and our University will be mutually sharing information and network.
