Our Professional Flight students receive their aviation badges

Our Undergraduate Professional Flight Program students who successfully completed their Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL-A) training were awarded their licenses and aviation badges during a ceremony held jointly by our Faculty of Aviation and Aeronautical Science, and AYJET Anatolian Stars Flight School.

The badge ceremony marked a milestone for our 40 Undergraduate Professional Flight students, who qualified to receive their Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL-A)  at the end of 2017-2018 academic year, as they took their first step into their aviation careers.     The ceremony featured Mr. Hüsnü Özyeğin, Chair of the Board of Trustees at Özyeğin University, Rector Prof. Dr. Esra Gençtürk, Assistant Professor Hatice Küçükönal, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Aviation and Aeronautical Science, Mr. Celal Cingöz, General Manager at AYJET Flight School, Mr. Naci Uçar, School Director at AYJET Flight School, flight instructors, faculty members, and the families of graduating seniors.

Prof Dr. Esra Gencturk, Rector of Özyeğin University gave a speech during the ceremony, and remarked: “We believe that the Faculty of Aviation and Aeronautical Science makes a difference with its innovations in aviation education, and plays a vital role in meeting the existing need for aviation professionals. Our 39 Undergraduate Professional Flight Program students who graduated in 2016 and 2017 now sit in the cockpits as co-pilots for the leading aviation companies in Turkey. Through its specialized academic programs that offer a high level of expertise;  robust sectoral collaborations; world-class foreign language education,; scholarly events; and research and application centers, our Faculty prepares highly qualified graduates ready to make significant contributions to their profession. For our Undergraduate Professional Flight Program students, this is perhaps the most thrilling part of their 4-year education as today, our prospective pilots take their first step into their flight careers. After successfully completing their theoretical flight training at our University and their technical and applied flight training at AYJET Flight School, they have now become eligible to receive their licenses and aviation badges.   I would like to congratulate our prospective pilots on their achievement. I am confident that our pilots will truly make a difference in the aviation sector with their robust academic background and in-depth knowledge about airlines and corporate aviation.”
