Prof. Dr. Murat Uysal Elevated to Fellow Grade by IEEE
Prof. Murat Uysal, Head of the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering at Özyeğin University, has been elevated to “Fellow” grade by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The IEEE is a non-profit international association advancing innovation and technological excellence in the field of electrical and electronics engineering. Today, there are more than 423,000 IEEE members in over 160 countries.
The grade of Fellow is awarded to distinguished researchers in recognition of their breakthrough and high-impact studies in any of IEEE’s designated fields of interest, and is conferred by the IEEE Board of Directors only by nomination and references of a Fellow nominator. IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership, and is recognized as a prestigious honor and a distinctive career achievement.
Prof. Dr. Uysal is renowned for his studies and research in the fields of communications theory and wireless communications. He has over 300 conference proceedings and articles published in international journals. To date, Prof. Dr. Uysal has received over 9,500 citations to his publications. Prof Uysal currently serves as the Head of IEEE Turkey. His distinctions include the Turkish Academy of Sciences Distinguished Young Scientist Award, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Discovery Accelerator Supplement Award, University of Waterloo Engineering Research Excellence Award, Özyeğin University Best Researcher Award, and National Instruments Engineering Impact Award among others.
