The HES codes of all stakeholders will be monitored regularly at campus entry in order to check if the stakeholders’ HES code status is “RISKLESS! Vaccination/recovery/test data are compatible with Ministry of Interior Circular”.

Please make sure to take these with you before leaving for campus:

  • Mask
  • Mobile phone with the HES application
  • Özyeğin University ID Card
  • Preferably, personal water bottles, or cups

Before You Leave For Campus

Özyeğin University Shuttle Rules

In the Fall semester, shuttles will drop off passengers at the Shuttle Area (Drop-Off) and the Dormitory Main Entrance A in the mornings. Bostancı and Ataşehir shuttles will use the Dormitory Main Entrance. The HES codes of all stakeholders will be monitored regularly at campus entry in order to check if the stakeholders’ HES code status is “RISKLESS! and Vaccination/recovery/test data are compatible with Ministry of Interior Circular”. A “Fast Lane” will be available for use at all campus entry points for those who have saved their HES Codes in the system.

  • Follow the signs and the instructions of the staff at campus entry points in order to prevent crowding during HES code checks.
  • Act fast at campus entry points to help control crowding, and keep your ID card and HES application ready to present.
  • If there is a queue for the HES code inquiry, wait in a single line with 1.5m physical distance from others. Do not wait in pairs or groups.

Private Vehicles Rules

Parking spaces will be open and will continue to be free of charge without space limitations during the Fall semester. Please check the occupancy of parking facilities from the signage at campus entry and park your vehicle in an available car park. The HES codes of all stakeholders will be monitored regularly at campus entry in order to check if the stakeholders’ HES code status is “RISKLESS! and Vaccination/recovery/test data are compatible with Ministry of Interior Circular”. For OzU commuters who saved their HES codes in the system, the HES code inquiry will be faster via MyOzU.

  • At campus entry points, stop the vehicle in the area where the staff assign.
  • Put on your mask before opening the driver’s window.
  • After the security check, move forward.

On Campus, In All Outdoor Common Areas

The signs and signage posted in common areas on campus and their meanings are available at https://www.ozyegin.edu.tr/sites/default/files/upload/HSE/covid_19_poster_ve_stickerlar.pdf. Contactless disinfectant dispensers are placed at all building entrances.

  • Do not take off your mask.
  • Maintain at least 1.5m social distance from other pedestrians.
  • Always adhere to the signs that show the walking direction and the required physical distance.
  • Make sure to keep at least 2m physical distance from others when you take off your masks in outdoor smoking zones.

In All Indooor Common Areas Rules

All on-campus common areas are regularly disinfected. In the Fall semester, all our air conditioning and ventilation systems will provide 100% fresh air to all spaces.

  • Always adhere to the signs that show the walking direction and the required physical distance.

In Dormitory Rooms Rules

  • No students or guests are allowed in your rooms other than the registered room occupants.
  • Always wear your mask when a person other than the registered room occupants is present in the room for mandatory reasons such as cleaning or maintenance and repair.
  • Do not share personal items with your roommates, and obtain your own personal items (i.e. glasses, forks, spoons).
  • Air the room as much as possible.
  • Take the necessary measures to maintain good personal hygiene in the shared spaces in the room such as the toilet and the shower (i.e. personal towels, personal soap, etc.)
  • Speak in a normal tone in the room as speaking loudly increases the risk of transmission.
  • Do not leave any trash lying around in the room.
  • Move all your personal belongings and leave your room suitable for cleaning.
  • Furniture in the room is arranged according to the pandemic measures. Don’t re-arrange furniture.

In Indoor Common Areas in Dormitories Rules

  • Do not take off your mask
  • Maintain at least 2m social distance from others
  • Always adhere to the signs that show the walking direction and the required physical distance.
  • Observe the maximum person limit and the signs and signage which show where you should stand and what direction you should face in the elevators.
  • Adhere to the maximum person limit posted on the doors of indoor spaces in the dormitories.
  • Don’t leave your personal items behind in the kitchenettes and leave the area you use clean.
  • Adhere to the washing cycle times of the washing machines in the laundry room, and remove your laundry from the washing machine soon after the washing cycle ends. Don’t touch others’ personal belongings.
  • Desks and chairs in individual and group study rooms are arranged according to the pandemic measures. Don’t re-arrange furniture.
  • Study individually in the group study rooms.
  • Gaming facilities in common areas are not available for use due to the pandemic.

In the Dining Hall Rules

In the 2021-2022 Fall semester, the main dining hall will serve with reduced seating capacity. As part of the pandemic measures, the open salad bar and pasta service have been suspended for this semester. Take-away sandwich lunch menus have been added to the available options in the main dining hall. The main dining hall is regularly disinfected. Admission to the main dining hall will be granted on an hourly basis during the pandemic.

  • Do not take off your mask unless to eat or drink.
  • If there is a queue for meal service or at the cashier, wait in a single line with 1.5m physical distance from others. Do not wait in pairs or groups.
  • Observe the signs and the reduced capacity limits in the dining area. Do not sit in a face-to-face position. Always make sure to sit side-by-side.
  • Keep the time you spend in the main dining hall as short as possible.
  • If you prefer an alternative to an indoor cafeteria setting, you may have a takeaway sandwich menu and leave the dining hall.

In Food-Beverage Businesses Rules

In the 2021-2022 Fall semester, on-campus food-beverage businesses will serve with reduced seating capacity under the supervision of OzU HSE. The opening dates and hours of on-campus businesses can be found at MyOzU under Services - On-Campus Businesses at https://my.ozyegin.edu.tr/tr/page/2480. On-campus businesses have been informed about the vaccine card mandate and are regularly checked by HSE.

  • Do not take off your mask unless to eat or drink.
  • If there is a queue for meal service or at the cashier, wait in a single line with 1.5m physical distance from others. Do not wait in pairs or groups.
  • Observe the signs and the reduced capacity limits in the dining area. Do not sit in a face-to-face position. Always make sure to sit side-by-side.
  • Keep the time you spend in the indoor areas of these businesses as short as possible.

In Indoor Athletic Facilities

In the 2021-2022 Fall semester, the OzU Athletic Center will be closed except for activities conducted under the control of the Athletic Center. In the Fall semester, all our air conditioning and ventilation systems will provide 100% fresh air to all spaces.

  • Don’t enter indoor athletic facilities unless you have a special permit issued by the Athletic Center.

At Campus Entrances, For Courier and Guest Admissions Rules

Guests of students are not allowed to enter the campus. For guest/visitor admission, the Security Center must be informed at least one day before via email. When a courier arrives, the recipient must collect the package from the security point. For packages that are too heavy to carry, the recipient will be contacted, and the courier will be allowed to proceed from the security point to the main entrance of the dormitories.

  • For guest/visitor admission, inform the Security Center at least one day before via email.

In Classroom, Lecture Halls, and Laboratories Rules

In the 2021-2022 Fall semester, all our air conditioning and ventilation systems will provide 100% fresh air to all spaces. Controlling of the systems will be done automatically, and thermostats will not be turned on for individual usage. The first row of seats will be kept empty.

  • Read and make yourself acquainted with the guidelines posted in classrooms.
  • When necessary, alert your course instructor so that no more than the limited and announced number of people are in the classroom.
  • During the class, wear your mask at all times, fully covering your mouth and nose.
  • Minimize or avoid exchanging materials during the class.
  • At the end of the class, classify your trash and throw them in the double waste bins in the hallways.
  • Open the windows in classrooms. Don’t close them during the class.

If You Start Feeling Cick While You Are On Campus

Students and faculty/staff with symptoms such as fever-chills-newly onset coughs, difficulty in breathing, muscle aches, headaches, sore throat, running or blocked nose, loss of taste/smell, vomiting, or diarrhea must immediately notify Student Services, or their direct reports, respectively. Once informed, the relevant administrators will ensure the required coordination within the University.

  • If you are outdoors and able to walk on your own, please refer to the Health Center as soon as possible, without taking your mask off, and put on a second face mask, if available.
  • If you are in the room, don’t leave the room and call Accommodation Services to inform them about your condition. Accommodation Services will ensure the required coordination with the Health Center and provide the necessary support to you.
  • If you have difficulty walking, call Emergency Operator (0216 564 9911) for assistance. The medical staff will pick you up from where you are.

For Our Academics and Administrative Staff

Staff Shuttle Rules

All Özyeğin University personnel shuttle buses are regularly disinfected before each trip to and from university. The most up-to-date information about personnel shuttles is announced and any change thereto will be announced separately. For more, please contact ulaşım@ozyegin.edu.tr. In the 2021-2022 Fall semester, employees may use only the shuttles that are assigned to them.  

  • Do not take off your mask.
  • If possible, choose a seat that you can sit alone.
  • Do not eat or drink during the trip.
  • If possible, do not speak or call out to others during the trip.
  • If possible, keep the windows open.

Fine from the Personnel Service at the Entrance to the Campus

In the Fall semester, staff shuttles will drop off passengers at the Shuttle Area (Drop-Off) and in the Pavilion area. The HES codes of all stakeholders will be monitored regularly at campus entry in order to check if the stakeholders’ HES code status is “RISKLESS! and Vaccination/recovery/test data are compatible with Ministry of Interior Circular”. A “Fast Lane” will be available for use at all campus entry points for those who have saved their HES Codes in the system. In times of congestion, OzU commuters will be directed to the Pavilion area for admission to campus. At the Pavilion entry point, a separate area will be arranged to check the HES Codes in two different lines and to grant admission.

  • Do not come to the office unless for your planned work schedule
  • Do not accept guests at the office unless it is absolutely necessary for work
  • Make sure that not more than one person eat or drink in the open office at a time
  • If weather permits, make sure to open the windows, when possible

Single Office Rules

In the Fall semester, all our air conditioning and ventilation systems will provide 100% fresh air to all spaces. Controlling of the systems will be done automatically, and thermostats will not be turned on for individual usage. Work spaces are regularly disinfected.

  • Make sure not to accept anyone else in the room unless it is absolutely necessary.
  • Put on your mask if another person needs to enter your office even for a short period of time, and make sure that the other person wears a mask as well.
  • If weather permits, make sure to open the windows, when possible

Meeting Room Rules

In the Fall semester, all our air conditioning and ventilation systems will provide 100% fresh air to all spaces. Controlling of the systems will be done automatically, and thermostats will not be turned on for individual usage. Meeting rooms are regularly disinfected.

  • Unless it is absolutely necessary due to the nature of the meeting, make sure to organize all meetings online
  • If a meeting has to be held face-to-face, make sure to have the meeting with the minimum number of participants and keep it as short as possible.
  • Adhere to the maximum capacity limitations posted on meeting room doors.
  • Make sure that no one takes off their face masks during the meeting.
  • Don’t eat or drink during the meeting.

Floor Kitchen Rules

Kitchenettes are regularly disinfected.

  • Kitchenettes will be open but no other than the kitchenette staff will be allowed in kitchenettes. Therefore, please ask support from the kitchenette staff.
  • Fill your personal water bottles from the water purifiers or water dispensers in kitchenettes whenever possible.
  • Make sure not to have your personal items touch water purifiers or dispensers while filling water.

At Campus Entrances, For Courier and Guest Admissions Rules
