Ahmet Esen started his business career with Pfizer in 1979 when he joined the Turkish organization as a management trainee in the Technical Division. In 1983 he was appointed as Personnel Director.He worked as Assistant Finance Director in 1989 for six months before taking Sales Manager role in the Pharmaceutical Division.In 1993, Esen was appointed Country Manager, Pfizer-Pakistan and two years later, he continued his career in New York as Executive Personnel Director, North America/Australia/Canada Region.Esen was named Regional Director, South and Middle Africa in early 1996.In 1999, Esen was appointed as Country Manager, Pfizer-Turkey.Esen served as Country Manager, Pfizer-China between 2006 and end-2009.Following his retirement from Pfizer after 30 years of service, he became an executive director of Alliance/Walgreens pharmaceutical distributor in Turkey and an international board member of Lindstrom, a Finnish textile service company.
Currently, Esen teaches undergraduate level “International Business” and Professional MBA level “Global Strategy Immersion” courses at Sabanci University. Esen is recently appointed as Sabanci University EMBA Consortium Program Director.
Esen has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Bogazici University, Istanbul.He received his Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London.Esen also holds an MBA from Bogazici University, Istanbul.
