Dr. Ali Pehlivan received his Bachelor’s Degree, in 1998, from Ankara University Faculty of Law. He then acquired a Master’s Degree on private law from Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences, and an additional MD on human rights law from İstanbul Bilgi University Graduate School of Social Sciences.
He presented his PhD thesis on “The Basic Principles of Law on Misdemeanors” which was unanimously accepted by the academic jury in January 2012. He contributed as co-author to the book titled Hukuka Giriş (An Introduction to Law), by Prof. Aydın Aybay and Prof. Rona Aybay, starting from its 9th. edition published in 2013, by Istanbul Bilgi University Press.
Dr. Pehlivan, who has a considerable number of published articles on Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law, is an active member of the Turkish Association of Criminal Law. He has also served as instructor in the Union of Turkish Bar Associations and the European Council’s jointProject on SustainableTraining of Turkish Lawyers on the ECHR. He still continues his contributions to various training activities organized either by the Istanbul Bar Association or the Union of Turkish Bar Associations.
