Burcu Mutlu obtained her BA degree in Political Science and International Relations from Marmara University and her MA degree in Sociology from Boğaziçi University. She completed her Ph.D. in History, Anthropology, and Science, Technology & Society at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2019. In 2017-2018, she was also a doctoral associate in the program in Science, Religion, and Culture at Harvard Divinity School. During the 2020-21 academic year, she taught in the General Education Department at Istanbul Bilgi University. Her research areas include anthropology of reproductive technologies and biobanking; medical anthropology; feminist science & technology studies; family, kinship and gender; and transnational mobilities.
