Upon completing her high school education in Sami Frasheri High School in Kosovo, Yalcinkaya moved to Turkey, where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management at the later-named Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Anadolu University in 2009. Yalcinkaya obtained her Master’s Degree in International Business from the Institute of Social Sciences at Marmara University in 2011. Presently, Yalçınkaya is working on her doctoral thesis in Management and Organization at the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Anadolu University.
Yalçınkaya joined the Undergraduate Professional Flight Program at Özyeğin University in 2011 as the Quality Specialist. After she was awarded the Approval of Management Personnel certificate in Quality and Safety Management System by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, she started to serve as the Quality Manager in the Undergraduate Professional Flight Program.Yalçınkaya is also a member of the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Board and an internal auditor for ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 (HSE) Management Systems. Yalçınkaya also teaches Safety Management System courses at the Undergraduate Professional Flight Program and Undergraduate Aviation Management Program.
Leyla A. Yalçınkaya holds a substantial number of training certificates, including the “JAR-FCL”, “EU OPS 1”, “IR Part-M” and “IR Part-145” licenses granted by the Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA), the “Preventive Security Measures” certificate awarded by the US Department of Homeland Security, “Safety Management System” certificate issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the Aviation Quality System certificate, as well ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 certifications. Yalçınkaya also has proceedings, each presented at national or international conferences. She continues to pursue her career in aviation.
