Mert Ayaroğlu graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Department of Architecture in 2003. In 2007, he completed his master's degree in the same department with his thesis titled “Urban Complexity and Connectivity: The Emergence of Generative Models in Urban Design”. Since 2003, he has worked as a designer and project manager in many architectural projects of different scales such as residential projects, commercial buildings, educational buildings, tourism facilities, university campuses, zoology and natural life parks in different architectural offices. He has expertise in sustainable and energy efficient building design. As an architect and consultant, he took part in various EU and UNDP supported projects focused on energy efficiency and sustainability. He is also specialized in BREEAM International certification system and LEED certification system. He has awards in architectural design competitions he participates with different teams. He continues his professional practice at Studio IM, of which he is a founding partner.
