He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Building Science from Istanbul Technical University in 2016. His Ph.D. thesis title was “A New Approach to Define Economically Applicable Energy Efficient Retrofit Solutions for Residential Buildings in Turkey.” He is mainly focused on Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB), cost-optimality analysis, building energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality (IEQ), existing buildings’ energy efficient renovation and cost analysis of related actions to implement step-by-step and low initial investment cost renovation methods in the framework of recast-EPBD to Turkey’s economic, social and climatic conditions. He was one of the main researchers in two national research projects named “Determination of Turkish Reference Buildings and National Method for Defining Cost Optimum Energy Efficiency Level of Buildings” and "Establishment of infrastructure and practical standard for ecological settlement units’ transformation of the regions under ecological disaster risks in Kocakır region of Eskişehir" supported by the “TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey)” and the “Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning of Turkey” respectively.

Furthermore, he has more than 14 years’ work experience in Architectural design and Built-Environment Science until 2016.
