Özyeğin University Placed First in “Youth Designing the Future” Hackathon

The winning teams were announced in the 3D Design hackathon “Youth Designing the Future” organized jointly by Arçelik and Cumulus with the motto of "We design a sustainable future together" for middle school, high school, and university students.  The OzU team “2+1” made up of Hakkı Motorcu,  our Electrical and Electronics Engineering student, and Başak Berument and Naz İrem Sevinç, our Industrial Design students, came in first in the university category.

Organized online from June 19 through 20 under the theme of "Sustainable City”, the hackathon required the participating teams to offer solutions to the given problem in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Our OzU team2+1 joined the competition with an innovative project aimed to solve the human mobility caused by the growing population density in mega cities by increasing the capacity and efficiency of existing new areas. The team 2+1 surpassed other competitors and won first prize with the 3D design they prepared. 35 teams participated in the hackathon at the university level. An Arçelik 3D Printer was awarded to the team members who came first.

We would like to congratulate our students Başak Berument, Hakkı Motorcu, and Naz İrem Sevinç, who made us proud by placing first in the competition, and wish them continued success.
