We Emerged as Winners in Turkey’s First End to End Energy Trading Hackathon

The team that included our students Semanur Sancar, an Electrical-Electronics Engineering master’s student at the Graduate School of Engineering and Science, and Emin Kartçı, senior Electrical-Electronics Engineering student at the Faculty of Engineering, came in first in Turkey's first "End-to-End Energy Trading Hackathon” organized on March 24-25, 2022 by the Energy Digitization Association (EDIDER) in collaboration with Foton as part of the Digital Energy Forum (DEF’22).  The 5-member team "Volans a Team Star” competed in the "Energy Cooperative Design", "Electricity Market and Energy Cooperatives" and "Blockchain and Tokeneconomy" categories and made presentations for jury evaluation and public voting for the project they developed. With their blockchain technology-driven business model which they named “Green Volans Chain” the team designed how end-to-end electricity trading can be performed in the electric networks of the future. We congratulate our students on their significant contribution to the future transition of energy supply from the state-human relationship towards the human-human relationship and wish them continued success.
