Our Rector Prof. Esra Gençtürk Attends TUBITAK’s '1711 Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Call' Signing Ceremony

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye(TÜBİTAK) introduced 17 projects selected from submissions to its 'Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem 2023 Call' during a signing ceremony held at Marmara Technopark TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus on January 5, 2024. TÜBİTAK’s 'Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem 2023 Call' program aims contribute to the transformation of artificial intelligence technologies into products or solutions tailored to the needs of client organizations and revitalizing the artificial intelligence ecosystem in Türkiye. The project, "Artificial Intelligence-Based Plastic Injection Quality Control System”, in which Özyeğin University serves as one of the technology providers, has also been named as one of the select 17 projects that have secured support from TUBITAK under the "1711 Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem 2023" program.

The ceremony was attended by esteemed figures including Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology, and Prof. Hasan Mandal, TUBITAK President. Özyeğin University was represented by Prof. Esra Gençtürk, our Rector, Dr. İsmail Arı, Director of Knowledge, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship (KTTE), and Assistant Prof. Erinç Albey from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Özyeğin University.

Submitted in response to TUBITAK’s project call "1711 Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem 2023", the project “Artificial Intelligence-Based Plastic Injection Quality Control System” is led by Arçelik, with Özyeğin University and Ascenix serving as technology providers. In addition to OzU researchers’ expertise in digital transformation and data-driven intelligent systems, the project will also leverage the infrastructural and engineering support of OzUBEX Industry 4.0 Competence Center, and will be led by Assistant Prof. Erinç Albey from the Department of Industrial Engineering, on the ÖzU front. The ultimate goal of the project is to transform Ascenix's data collection infrastructure into a widely applicable and commercially viable product.
