Welcomed Our New Students and Their Families to Campus During the 2026–2027 Academic Year Orientation Days

During our annual Orientation Days, we welcomed our newest Preparatory Program and undergraduate students and their families to the Çekmeköy Campus for the start of the 2026–2027 academic year. Held on September 17 for Preparatory Program students and September 18 for undergraduate students, Orientation Days gave new students an opportunity to get to know the University, explore the campus, and take their first steps into university life.

The program opened with remarks by Prof. A. Tanju Erdem, Vice President for Academic Affairs, followed by a session with Nergis Uyan, Dean of Students, and representatives from student services, offering a closer look at student life, campus resources, and the services available to support students throughout their university experience.

During the program, students explored the campus and their faculties, accompanied by their peer advisors. Later, they joined a session with Selen Şirin Dülger, Director of the School of Languages, to explore ScOLa’s approach to language education and the language-learning experience that awaits them. The program continued with a maker session at the OpenFab Workshop, where students experienced the power of thinking, learning and creating together, discovering the many spaces and experiences that make up campus life at OzU.

As our new students took their first steps into university life, Orientation Days also included a special program for their families. Sessions with parents offered an overview of academic and social life at the University, campus resources, and the student experience.
