Robotics Laboratory Internship Teleoperation System for Surgical Procedures
Robotics Laboratory Internship Teleoperation System for Surgical Procedures
Robotics Laboratory Internship Teleoperation System for Surgical Procedures
Format: On Campus
Number of Interns (Quota): 4
Duration of the Internship: 40 workdays
Start Date: 1 July 2025
End Date: 8 August 2025
Application Deadline: May 1, 2024
Project Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Ozkan Bebek
Project Description:
This project aims to develop an advanced teleoperation system to enable remote control of surgical procedures and provide greater precision, safety and accessibility in medical interventions. With recent advances in robotic surgery, the integration of teleoperation capabilities opens new possibilities for remote healthcare delivery, allowing skilled surgeons to perform precise procedures across geographical distances.
The teleoperation system will include highly fidelity haptic feedback, real-time visual information and intuitive control interfaces. These features will enable the remote surgeon to feel, see and interact with the surgical environment as if they were physically there. Project Tasks Creating a basic teleoperation control system that allows remote manipulation of a simulated robotic arm. Develop a simple haptic feedback module that provides tactile feedback based on input from the control system, simulating basic touch responses. Design an intuitive user interface for the control system, making it easy for users to operate remotely.
