Özyeğin University Team Qualifies to Be Among the 14 Finalist Teams in Android Academy

The pre-elimination and interview phases of the Android Academy organized for the second time by Google Turkey and Entrepreneurship Foundation under the auspices of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) were concluded. This year, a total of 411 teams competed in the program. The Özyeğin University team made up of our Computer Science students Egemen İşcan and Peker Çelik and our Architecture Department student Furkan Yılmaz qualified to be among the 14 finalist teams. Our students participate in the program with their projects on Cyber Security. In the next phase of the program, our students will build on their business idea through the training and mentorship support provided by Google.

Android Academy intends to promote the development of new applications which offer technological solutions to social problems from education to agriculture, cyber security to natural disasters, using Google products and Android technologies. Participating teams will develop new products using a wide range of technologies from artificial intelligence to big data, VR to AR and cloud. The top three winning teams will receive incubation support from ITU Arı Teknokent and an entrepreneurship ecosystem trip to San Francisco.
