2019 - 2020 Spring Semester Undergraduate Final Grade Changes

Dear Faculty Members,

Please be advised that the Grade Change interface will be available for access on  Student Information System (SIS)  via the Grades - Final Grades - Grade Amendment screen until Thursday, June 18, 2020, 3.00 p.m. to make changes to grades or to complete the Incomplete grades for the 2019-2020 Spring semester.

Grade changes must be approved by the Dean / Director of the faculty / school which offers the respective course. Once the grade change is approved, students will immediately be able to view the amended grade via the SIS.  Changes made to BÜT grades are not submitted to the Faculty Dean/School Director for approval, and instead are directly shown in the student’s academic records. Any I (incomplete) sign which has not been replaced by  Thursday, June 18, 2020, 3.00 p.m. automatically turns into an F (“Fail”) grade.

Please refer the video in the following link for more information about how to change final grades. The video is in English. However, Turkish and English subtitles are also available.

Grade Changes via SIS

As per the decision made by our University Senate following the University’s decision to move from    on-site instruction to online instruction (distance education), please be advised that, exclusively for the 2019 - 2020 Spring semester, students will be able to request to have the “standard letter grades” they obtained from the courses, which are normally graded with standard letter grades, converted into “Satisfactory (S) / Unsatisfactory (S)”. The request to convert the standard letter grades into “Satisfactory (S) / Unsatisfactory (U)” can be submitted after the announcement of grades for the number of courses the students determine. Among the courses for which students request to have their letter grades converted into “Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory”, the courses from which at least the minimum passing grade has been achieved will be graded as “Satisfactory”. We would like to remind you that the minimum passing grade is set at least “D” in the Rules and Regulations for Undergraduate Programs, and courses for which students are unable to achieve the minimum passing grade will be graded as “Unsatisfactory (U)”. You can access the "Online Education Principles" regarding this matter from myOzU - Online Education - Online Education Principles.

As per the “Principles and Procedures for Composite Examinations and the Summer School for Undergraduate Students”, the grade obtained in the composite examination replaces the grade obtained from the final examination. The student’s new grade is assessed and announced by the course instructor by the last date for the submission of incomplete grades.  Any BÜT sign which has not been replaced by  Thursday, June 18, 2020, 3.00 p.m. automatically turns into an F (“Fail”) grade.

Composite examination grades for the Faculty of Law courses must be entered via the “Gradebook -Gradebook Login” screen in the Student Information System (SIS)  Thursday, June 18, 2020, 3.00 p.m. Any changes to grades for any reasons other than composite examinations are completed by the Student Services with the Faculty Executive Board decision. Any request for a grade change must be submitted with a petition to the Faculty.

For the Undergraduate Professional Flight Program courses for which Gradebook is used, grade changes must be entered via the “Gradebook - Grade Change” screen in the Student Information System (SIS) with the approval of the Dean of the Faculty which offers the course.  Composite examination grades must be entered via the “Gradebook -Gradebook Login” screen in the Student Information System (SIS) before  Thursday, June 18, 2020, 3.00 p.m.

If you have any questions regarding the final grade changes via the SIS, you may contact our Undergraduate Programs Specialists at Student Services.

Kind Regards,

Student Services
