Erasmus+ Programme Photo Competition: “MY ERASMUS DAYS”


International Office is organizing a photo competition to celebrate the #ERASMUSDAYS 2020. The theme of the competition is “My Erasmus Days”. Former Erasmus+ study or traineeship participants, who are interested in taking part in the competition, are invited to choose and upload by October 14th, one specific photo accompanied by a short text, to describe their experience and the impact that the program has had on their lives. The winner will be announced on October 15th and will be awarded a Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 Box Kit (White/grey). The details of the competition, i.e. how to enter, eligibility of images, etc. can be found under the “rules and conditions”.

About #ERASMUSDAYS:

15, 16 & 17 October 2020: Three days of celebration of the Erasmus+ Programme in Europe and beyond during the #ErasmusDays. It’s a  unique opportunity to share your Erasmus experience. The #ErasmusDays give you 3 dedicated days to learn about the Erasmus+ Programme and talk with the program’s alumni who will be happy to share their experiences with you. Rules and Conditions:

Participation eligibility and registration procedure:

  • The competition is addressed to OzU students and alumni who have participated in the Erasmus+ study/traineeship mobility types.
  • Participation is free of charge.
  • Each participant can only submit one image with a short text.
  • IO employees’ immediate family members are not eligible to enter the contest.
  • Photos that are submitted after the deadline or are not coherent with the rules and guidelines are not eligible to enter the contest.
  • Entrants shall submit their photographs between 7 October 2020 at 9.00 a.m. and 14 October 2020 at 4.00 p.m. (Istanbul time). Any entry submitted outside of this timeframe shall not be considered.
  • Entrants shall submit their photographs digitally via the online Google - Application Form. Photos sent by emails will not be eligible.
  • The photograph must be in .jpg/jpeg format. Images are expected to be at least 2400 pixels in width and 1700 pixels in height (for landscape-oriented photographs), or 1700 pixels in width and 2400 pixels in height (for portrait-oriented photos).

 

Photo Specifications:

  • Photos are expected to reflect the impact of the Erasmus+ programme and should not be about touristic views.
  • Photos are expected to promote the main aims of the Erasmus+ programme, which are:
    • o Social inclusion
    • o Free movement
    • o Empowering young people to participate in democratic life and the labour market
    • o Active citizenship
    • o Education and volunteering for a sustainable economy
    • o Intercultural dialogue and solidarity
    • o Sports
    • o Language skills
    • o Increased quality in education, learning, and youth activities
    • o Openness to other cultures

 

Submission and Classification of Photos:

  • Photos will be submitted via the Google - Application Form.
  • Applicants are required to log in to the form with their OzU accounts. (@ozu.edu.tr emails)
  • Entrants who successfully submit the photos will receive a notification.
  • Photos must be submitted in .JPG/JPEG formats, which must be min. 1 MB and max. 10 MB.
  • Photo names should not exceed 30 characters.
  • Photo names should not include special characters.

 

General Conditions:

  • By submitting entries to the contest, entrants agree that images will be archived by the OzU IO. Submitted images can be published on Ozyegin University’s social media accounts, website, printed materials, exhibitions, videos, and promotion materials.) exclusively and freely without charge. The images may also be published during the announcement of the winner on the website and institutional social media accounts with reference to the owner. The usage of right belongs to the owner of the image. All submitted photos may be collected and published as a book. Participants, by submitting their photos digitally via the online application form acknowledge and accept that they don’t/won’t proclaim any claims or demands from Ozyegin University.
  • All personal data, especially name and address may be processed, shared, and otherwise used for the purposes and within the context of the contest, OzU institutional activities, and any other purposes outlined in these Rules. The data may also be used by OzU IO in order to verify the entrant's identity, postal address, and telephone number or to otherwise verify the entrant's eligibility to participate in the contest.
  • OzU IO retains the right not to accept the participation of entrants who do not comply with the conditions, the topic, and spirit of the initiative, or who intend to participate with photographs inciting hate, discrimination, sexism, violation of human rights, or violence.
  • Entrants must have obtained the consent of any persons represented in the photograph for use of the photographs by Ozyegin University for all purposes related to the competition or intended to promote EU activities. If among those are people who are younger than 18, they are considered to have taken approval from their families or legal guardian. We expect the owner of the image to undertake all the responsibilities that may be subject to potential conflicts or disputes with the photos in which third party people are present.
  • The entrants shall be the sole owner and author of the photographs. The photographs shall not be subject to third-party rights.

 

Publication of the Competiton Results and Prize:

  • The images will be evaluated by a commission that includes staff from Ozyegin University International Office.
  • There will be only one winner of the competition and the selected winner will be announced on October 15th via the MyOzU website. The winner will be notified by email.
  • The prize awarded to the winner will be a Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 Box Kit photo machine.
  • If the winner/entrant has not participated in the Erasmus+ programme, their submission will be canceled and the prize will be awarded to the next participant.
  • The award decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
  • The photographs shall not infringe upon the copyright, trademarks, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person’s rights of privacy or publicity or any contractual rights.
  • Ozyegin University International Office reserves the right to disqualify submissions that are not consistent with the rules and conditions values and/or the photo competition.
