Abstract:

Decreasing fossil fuel sources and increasing carbon exhaust rate makes human-beings lead to search on different technological fields and to develop new technology. Also, thanks to the developing tendency to clean energy resources, internal combustion cars have been diminishing and electric vehicles have been augmenting day by day. However, the increase in an electrical vehicle brings some problems. One of the most important disadvantages of electric cars is long charging duration, which is the issue that is focused on in this thesis.

In this thesis, an e-mobility platform is designed and developed for electric car drivers. In the platform, there are such properties as nearest charging station finding, the charging station suggestion along the navigated road, and providing the driver with optimum charging station information by analyzing the user's behaviors. This e-mobility system consists of smartphones, IoT devices and cloud systems. On the other hand, all of the user information is stored in user's smartphone to prevent third-party accession.

Utilized algorithms, infrastructures, application visual images, and necessary codes are added to this thesis.

Finally, by taking time-dependent location information, the user's routine analyses are done thanks to statistical calculations.

Bio:

Kamil KAYA earned his B.Sc. degree in Engineering Physics at Gaziantep University in 2016. He has been pursuing his M.Sc. degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering at Özyeğin University. At the same time, he worked as an embedded system engineer on electro-optic systems firstly in TÜBITAK Electro-optic and Laser systems department then in Baykar Savunma between 2016 and 2020. Since April 2020, he is working as a project manager in Baykar Savunma. During his master thesis studies, he focused on electric vehicles and IoT platforms with supervisor Dr. Göktürk Poyrazoğlu.
