Özyeğin University Claims the Champion Title in the Chess Tournament

49 universities including Özyeğin University participated in the Online Chess Tournament organized by student chess players. Our Chess Team who take the “Credit Chess Course” from the Faculty of Social Sciences joined forces with 15 new chess students to prepare for the tournament. The tournament took place every Sunday from December 2020 through April 2021, with 15 teams in 5 leagues, and ended on April 18, 2020 with Özyeğin University claiming the championship title. Over 100 university students participated in the Online Chess Tournament. We would like to congratulate our students on their achievements and wish them continued success. Started impromptu, the tournament has quickly evolved into a grand tournament with 5 leagues, showing us once again the unifying power of sports. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all those who contributed to the organization of this tournament and all of the participating universities.
