Dr. Selenga Gürmen Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology Admitted to the National Pool of Experts for the Council of Europe Project

Dr. Selenga Gürmen Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology at Özyeğin University, has been admitted to the national pool of experts that will offer consultancy for the Council of Europe project: “Improving the Effectiveness of Family Courts: Better Protection of the Rights of Family Members”. The project is intended to increase the effectiveness of family courts for the better protection of the rights of family members, in particular women and children, enhance the capacities of court staff who work on human rights and family law, ensure the implementation of child-friendly justice principles, develop new mechanisms for cooperation with stakeholders, and raise awareness of the family justice system and judicial procedures of family courts through a series of research, application, training, and coordination activities. The project was conducted on July 5, 2021, and the project results were announced on September 16, 2021. The project is still underway under the guidance of the Council of Europe.
