Faculty of Engineering Acting Dean Prof. Dr. H. Fatih Uğurdağ Elected to Second Term as Head of IEEE Turkey

Prof. Dr. H. Fatih Uğurdağ, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, has been elected as the Head of the Turkey Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for a second time. The IEEE is a non-profit international association advancing innovation and technological excellence in the field of electrical and electronics engineering. Today, there are over 400,000 IEEE members in more than 160 countries. Prof. Dr. Fatih Uğurdağ, who has been serving as the Head of IEEE Turkey since January 2020, will continue to serve a second term till January 2024. Over the last two years, Prof. Dr. Uludağ has played a pivotal role with his team members in increasing the number of IEEE’s events, conferences, and members (around 2,000) in Turkey. Among his many services is the prestigious IEEE Turkey Science Awards inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Murat Uysal, the former head of IEEE Turkey and a member of our faculty. Another significant contribution of his to IEEE Turkey is “The Undergraduate Academic Conference (TUAC)”. Özyeğin University also contributes to IEEE Turkey through the IEEE OzU Student Charter.
