Prof. Dr. Evren Balta, Head of International Relations Department at the Özyeğin University, appeared as a guest of Afşin Yurdakul on HT 360, a discussion program on key agenda topics in Turkey and around the world, on Wednesday, November 9.
The program started at 23:00 on Habertürk TV. The topics of discussion were the US midterm elections and how the results of the midterm elections may affect the US President Joe Biden. Prof. Dr. Evren Balta was accompanied by Dr. Mehmet Ali Tuğtan from Bilgi University, Prof. Dr. İlyas Topsakal from Istanbul University, and Sinan Ülgen, Director of the Center for Economics and Foreign Policy Studies (EDAM), during the program. Prof. Dr. Evren Balta drew attention to the vast and growing gap between Republicans and Democrats during the US midterm elections. Remarking that voter turnout rate reached 70 percent, Balta underscored the increased interest of young generation in the election. Balta also evaluated the election graphics, and addressed the changes in voter perception from the past to the present.
