Özyeğin University Honored with Awards for its 7 Patents at ISIF - Istanbul International Invention Fair

As an entrepreneurial research university, Özyeğin University continues to crown its achievements with new accolades.

The Özyeğin University Technology Transfer Office attended the ISIF'23 Istanbul International Invention Fair held as part of the TEKNOFEST Aerospace and Technology Festival from April 27 through May 1, and hosted by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in cooperation with the International Federation of Inventors' Association (IFIA), the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the European Patent Office.

This year marked the eight edition of ISIF. OzU TTO attended ISIF’23 with eight patents, and 3 utility model, and honored with awards for seven of its patents.

Assistant Prof. Ramazan Ünal and Ege Gediksiz’s patent “Walkmech: A Trans-Femoral Prosthesis for Walking, Sitting-Standing, and Climbing Stairs” won the gold medal, while Assistant Prof. İsmail Arı’s patent “A System and Method for the Management of Neural Network Models”, and Assistant Prof. Ramazan Ünal and Ege Gediksiz’s patent “A Test Platform System” received silver medals. Also, “A Guiding Assembly for Catheters” by Prof. Dr. Güney Güven Yapıcı and Görkem Şimşek, "Cement-Based Compositions with Improved Rheological Properties and Methods for Production Thereof” by Associate Prof. Zeynep Başaran Bundur and Ali Amiri, and "Adherence-Free Post-Tensioned Precast Wall System for Buildings" by Assistant Prof. Bülent Erkmen were awarded bronze medals.

In addition, Assistant Prof. Senem Seyis Kazazoğlu and her PhD student Mahshad Azima's joint invention "A Moisture Resistant Wall Covering Material" was showcased at the exhibition area where the TURKPATENT applications of international students were featured within the scope of ISIF. Mashad Azima also received a bronze medal in recognition of her individual application.
