Özyeğin University Faculty Member Dr. Ali Cengiz Hosts The Moving Picture Experts Group Meeting

Dr. Ali Cengiz, a faculty member at Özyeğin University, hosted the 142nd meeting of The Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG), in which he has served in various working groups for many years.

The meeting was held with nearly 400 experts and academicians from across the globe in attendance. The event spotlighted innovations in digital audio, video, 3D graphics and genomic data, and debated the ideas that would carry the industry forward. Organized in Antalya from April 21 through April 28, 2023, the meeting also served as a platform to create common solutions for challenging technical problems. The MPEG 142 meeting also provided an important opportunity for socialization and networking, and garnered great interest and appreciation among the participants.

Dr. Beğen has received critical acclaim in recognition of the studies he has developed over the years under the umbrella of the MPEG, including the ground-breaking Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH), which was awarded a Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award.
