Özyeğin University Named Best Foundation University in Turkey in THE Impact Ranking 2023 for Fifth Consecutive Year

Özyeğin University has been named the best foundation university in Turkey in Times Higher Education’s "THE Impact Ranking" 2023. Performed annually by Times Higher Education (THE), a London based higher education ranking institution, the ranking assesses universities based on their social contributions towards the United Nations’ ‘Sustainable Development Goals.

THE Impact ranks universities based on the social, economic, and environmental practices they have adopted to deliver the United Nations’ Sustainability Development Goals. The ranking offers a brand new approach that previous international rankings have yet to offer, and reveals the significant value universities generate, beyond research and education. In the rankings which have been conducted since 2019, Özyeğin University maintained its first place among the foundation universities in Turkey, and was listed in the 301-400 band in the world in the overall ranking among 1,591 universities that were included in the rankings in recognition of its high-impact contributions towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Furthermore, Özyeğin University placed sixth among 79 Turkish universities included in the overall rankings, and was also named among the top 200 universities in the world in three areas in the ranking made based on the Sustainable Development Goals. These three areas in which Özyeğin University was ranked among the top 200 universities in the world are : "SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy", "SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production", and "SDG 16 - Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions". Özyeğin University also emerged among the top 300 universities in the world in "SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth".
