School of Applied Sciences at Özyeğin University Becomes Faculty

Our School of Applied Sciences at Özyeğin University has become a faculty upon the decision of the Özyeğin University Senate and the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The School of Applied Sciences admitted its first students in 2009 and boasted two internationally-recognized four-year bachelor’s programs: The Undergraduate Hotel Management Program and Undergraduate Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program.

Designed to educate highly-qualified professionals for the Hospitality and Gastronomy sectors, the leading fields in the tourism sector which rapidly grows both in Turkey and around the globe, our Faculty of Applied Sciences programs continue to make their mark with their world-class quality of education and international achievements since day one.

Taking pride in offering both applied and theoretical education by a robust international faculty vested with in-depth academic and sectoral expertise, our Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS) have conferred degrees upon 451 graduates, each harnessed with professional excellence and experience.

As of July 2023, FAS at Özyeğin University continues to offer world-class education to 368 students with a distinguished cadre of faculty, made up of 27 full-time and part-time academicians, as well as 5 international chefs and a Turkish chef, who are renowned for their international competencies in their respective fields.

Meanwhile, at its Center of Excellence spanning 3,650 sqm, our Faculty of Applied Sciences also provides its graduates with the necessary skillsets and competencies to assume national and international positions with flying colors in all hospitality and gastronomy-related sectors, or start their own businesses that is befitting to Özyeğin University’s entrepreneurial spirit through its scientific approach and curriculum. Graduates of our Undergraduate Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program, which offers world-class applied education with 900 hours of culinary courses, benefit from international job opportunities upon their graduation through the partnerships forged with Le Cordon Bleu International, which boasts a large network of over 20,000 alumni across 20 countries.

Taking pride in having all of its graduates being employed right after graduation in the past two years, our Undergraduate Hotel Management Program at the Faculty of Applied Sciences continues to remain as the one and only business and technology-based hospitality program in Turkey. The program offers applied education with a distinguished faculty comprised of doyens of the hospitality sector and seasoned academicians in their respective fields. Meanwhile, our Undergraduate Hotel Management Program has recently been accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA), one of the world’s most prestigious accreditation institution for hospitality and tourism programs, marking its name as the one and only undergraduate program in Turkey and Europe to ever receive this title.
