Özyeğin University Adjunct Faculty Member Professor Murat Uysal Honored with the 100th Year TÜBİTAK Science Award

Professor Murat Uysal, the Founding Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Founding Director of the Center of Excellence for Optical Wireless Communications Technologies (OKATEM) at Özyeğin University, has been honored with the 100th Year TÜBİTAK Science Award in the Engineering Sciences category. Annually conferred by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) since 1966, the TÜBİTAK Science Awards honor Turkish scientists for their exceptional international contributions to fundamental sciences, engineering, health sciences, and social sciences. The awards are regarded as the highest form of recognition, representing the zenith of achievement in the respective fields.

Professor Murat Uysal has been recognized with this prestigious acclaim, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, for his outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication to the development of optical wireless communication technologies. The award was conferred to Professor Murat Uysal during an awards ceremony held at the Presidential Complex on December 27, 2023. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan personally presented him with this esteemed accolade.
