Games Research Lab. Opening Event

We kindly invite you to our research/project-based lab opening called “Games Research Lab,” which takes place this Thursday from 13:00-14:00 inside the Mac lab (AB4, B317) in Architecture and Design Building at Ozyegin University. 

 

Games Research Lab is a collaborative production and research laboratory. We focus on exploring the intersections of game design, narrative, and culture in the mediascape of new technologies, game genres, and interaction methods. Its primary goal is to have students utilize critical thinking/making strategies while discussing works and collaborating on projects to develop a broader understanding of how game design and narrative can become the message in its constantly changing, cultural, and critically situated knowledge production.

 

As deliverables, this lab engages in practice-oriented research where the making is always considered culture-specific and with criticality in mind. The lab projects can vary depending on students’ expectations given their particular audience, medium, or technique. The primary intention of this lab is to organize and maintain the production of game-related projects in a creatively intuitive, culturally relevant, thought-provoking, exploratory, ethically responsible, and socially democratizing shared space.
