We Support the Earth Hour Movement

Earth Hour is a movement which has been organized by the WFF since 2017 to draw attention to global environmental issues, in particular climate change. The event is held worldwide annually with turning off their lights for one hour, as a global testimony of our sensitivity to environmental issues. 

In line with our university’s commitment to sustainability with all of its manifestations, we will also turn off majority of the lights on our campus, with the exception of the Dormitory Infirmary, Library and 24/7 area, AB1 Security Center, All Security Points, Gürsel Cabin, Dormitory Mini Quad, Pedestrian Road Between the Dormitories and the ScOLa, and the New Shuttle Area from 20:30 to 21:30 on Sunday, March 25 to support the Earth Hour movement.

Our students and staff are also welcome to contribute to the Earth Hour event individually by turning off their lights at their residences.
