Projects by Prof. Özge Samancı and Asst. Prof. Suzan Tireki Awarded Grant Under Horizon Europe MSCA Staff Exchanges 2025

Prof. Dr. Özge Samancı, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Özyeğin University, has been awarded grant funding under the 2025 call of the Horizon Europe Programme Marie Skłodowska-Curie Staff Exchanges. The funding was granted for the project titled “AQUA Viva: Water as Living Heritage: From Traditional Knowledge to Community Action for Climate Resilience and Wellbeing,” in which Özyeğin Universty is a project partner. The project team includes Prof. Özge Samancı as principal investigator and Assoc. Prof. Oya İklil Selçuk, Head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, as a senior researcher and Ece Cankat Arat, research assistant at the Hotel Management Program, as a young researcher.

Similarly, Asst. Prof. Suzan Tireki and Research Assistant Betül Oral from the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program will represent Özyeğin University as project partners in the newly funded Fix-APro project. Under the leadership of Middle East Technical University as the project coordinator, the initiative secured a grant through the prestigious 2025 Horizon Europe MSCA Staff Exchanges call. The project, titled “Fix-APro – Fixing Alternative Proteins: Overcoming Key Challenges for Practical Integration into Food Systems,” establishes a powerful synergy between academia and industry. The consortium includes Middle East Technical University (Project Coordinator), Özyeğin University, Plant-Based Foods Association (BİTKİDEN), Tat Gıda Sanayi A.Ş., and Yayla Agro Gıda Sanayi AŞ from Türkiye. This grant highlights Özyeğin University’s commitment to sustainable food innovation and international research excellence.
