OzU AI Research Series Centered on Pioneering Academic Research and Practical Applications in Artificial Intelligence

Özyeğin University has launched the OzU AI Research Series, a new initiative that brings together pioneering academic research and practical applications in artificial intelligence on a shared platform.

The series aims to raise awareness in AI research and strengthen collaboration between academia and industry with the ultimate goal of contributing to technological transformation. The inaugural meeting of the AI Research Series explored the latest AI research along with its real-world applications. Held on February 27, 2026, the event opened with a keynote address by Prof. M. İrşadi Aksun, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Impact, and continued with the panel discussion “Law, Economics, and Earthquakes: What Can Be Achieved with Natural Language Processing?”

Moderated by Prof. Olcay Taner Yıldız from the Computer Science Department at Özyeğin University, the panel featured Assistant Prof. Zeynep Reva from the Faculty of Law and Prof. Selva Demiralp from the College of Administrative Sciences and Economics at Koç University. The discussion explored the diverse applications of AI technologies across disciplines and highlighted how these innovations contribute to decision-making processes through real-world scenarios.

Through initiatives such as the OzU AI Research Series, Özyeğin University will continue to foster collaboration between academia, industry, and the public sector, expanding research and partnerships to further strengthen the AI ecosystem and cultivate collective intelligence.
