Quantum Communication Hardware Co-Developed by Özyeğin University Faculty Member Dr. Kadir Durak Launched into Space

Quantum-secure communication hardware developed by Qubitrium, a deep-tech venture founded and led by Dr. Kadir Durak from Özyeğin University, has been successfully launched into orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from California as part of the Transporter-16 rideshare mission.

The system known as “QubitCore” represents the culmination of years of advanced research and engineering in quantum communication technologies. With this mission, QubitCore enters its in-orbit validation phase, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of space-based quantum communication infrastructure.

Designed to address the stringent hardware requirements of quantum-secure communication, QubitCore has been developed as a scalable, commercially deployable platform. Its architecture enables integration across a range of satellite systems, positioning it as a versatile solution for satellite operators seeking to implement next-generation, quantum-resilient communication networks.
