Özyeğin University Alumna Begüm İndirkaş Reaches a Major International Milestone

Özyeğin University alumna Begüm İndirkaş, a 2017 graduate of the Industrial Engineering Program, has achieved a remarkable milestone in her international career journey. At just 30 years old, she has been appointed Factory Manager at Philips, becoming both the first woman and the first non-Dutch professional to assume the role within the organization.

Following her graduation from Özyeğin University, İndirkaş completed her master’s degree at Tilburg University in 2019. During her graduate studies, she began her professional career at IFF as an intern and subsequently joined the company full-time as a Global Supply Chain Analyst.

In 2021, İndirkaş joined Philips, where she quickly advanced through a series of leadership roles, including Continuous Improvement Manager and Field Analysis Laboratory Team Leader. Approximately ten months ago, she was appointed Factory Leader for Imaging Components at Philips Innovation Center Eindhoven - Best Campus, marking a historic milestone for the organization.

As the youngest person, the first woman, and the first non-Dutch leader to hold the position, İndirkaş’s career journey stands as an inspiring example for next generations.

Earlier this academic year, at the invitation of Prof. Burcu Balçık from the Industrial Engineering Department at Özyeğin University , İndirkaş returned to campus to meet with students and share insights from her professional journey after graduation.
