Özyeğin University’s Innovative University Model Reaches a Global Network

Özyeğin University has become the first and only university from Türkiye selected to join the Innovation Sandbox program organized by the Future Universities Alliance, a global platform dedicated to reimagining the future of higher education.

Connecting 49 distinguished higher education institutions from 23 countries across five continents, this prestigious initiative unites universities that place innovation at the heart of their mission.

In the Innovation Sandbox program, Özyeğin University will showcase OzU-X, its distinctive innovation ecosystem, to a global community of higher education trailblazers. Bringing together education, entrepreneurship, industry partnerships, and student experience within a comprehensive, multi-layered framework, OzU-X will be featured in the “Amplifying Signature Innovations” category.

Commenting on our University's participation in the program, President Prof. Barış Tan said: “Being the only university representing Türkiye in the Future Universities Alliance’s Innovation Sandbox Program is a strong testimony of the international recognition our OzU-X ecosystem has earned. Through this collaboration, we aim not only to share our OzU-X model with the world, but also to further strengthen it through international exchange, and contribute to the global higher education ecosystem.”

The 12-month journey will begin in July 2026 and continue with the Global Summit to be held in Durham, North Carolina, in October 2026. This partnership further cements Özyeğin University’s international standing as an institution committed to academic excellence and driven by a vision of creating lasting social impact.
