Özyeğin University Becomes the First University to Receive the Blue Water Efficiency Certificate

Özyeğin University has become the first university in Türkiye to be awarded the Blue Water Efficiency Certificate by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye, marking yet another national milestone in its commitment to sustainability. As part of the Water Efficiency Mobilization launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and in line with the Water Efficiency Regulation, Özyeğin University designated the 2025–2026 academic year as the Year of Water and implemented a comprehensive series of water efficiency initiatives across its campus.

Issued by the General Directorate of Water Management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for the Özyeğin University Çekmeköy Campus, the certificate recognizes the University's systematic approach to measuring, monitoring, and reporting water consumption, as well as its implementation of comprehensive water efficiency and conservation practices. It also stands as a powerful testimony of Özyeğin University's contribution to Türkiye's national water efficiency goals and to the fight against climate change.

The certification process was coordinated by the Sustainability, Safety and Quality Directorate, in close collaboration with the Technical Services Department and the University's relevant academic and administrative units. These collaborative efforts continue to promote the efficient use of water across campus while strengthening awareness of water efficiency throughout the University community.
