Özyeğin University, a vibrant and innovative institution located in Istanbul, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are seeking outstanding candidates with a proven track record in research and teaching, who are eager to contribute to the interdisciplinary academic environment of our university.

Qualifications:

• PhD in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Economics and related disciplines, as well as area studies - including African, Asian, Latin American studies, broadly-defined); within the first 3 years of acquiring a PhD.
• Strong potential for or proven ability to conduct high-quality research, as evidenced by publications in leading academic journals: a minimum of 2 x Q1/Q2 (WoS) publications are desired,
• Commitment to excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels; ideally one course on qualitative, quantitative or computational research methodology. (Course load is 2+2)
• Interdisciplinary research experience and collaborations are highly desirable.
• Prior large grant research experience is desirable; especially at the TUBITAK1001, HorizonEurope or similar large grant project research and/or coordination experience.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver innovative undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Engage in high-impact research, leading to publications in top-tier academic journals.
• Supervise graduate students and contribute to the development of the department’s academic programs.
• Collaborate with other faculty members on interdisciplinary research projects and initiatives.
• Have a strong research plan in place to apply for TUBITAK, Horizon, and ERC grants
• Actively engage in service to the university, professional organizations, and the wider academic community.

• A cover letter detailing research interests, teaching experience, and future plans – especially related to works in progress, application plans for major grants and which faculty members the applicant is interested in developing collaborations and on which existing projects.
• Curriculum vitae, including a list of publications.
• Two recent publication samples
• Contact information for two academic references.

• Teaching evaluations (if available).
• Two academic references.
