Prof. Barış Tan, President of Özyeğin University, participated as a panelist at Oksijen Future Forum 2026, held on October 12–13, 2026. On the second day of the forum, which was held under the theme “The New Equilibrium,” Prof. Tan joined Ümit Nuri Yıldız, CEO of Alarko, and Işıl Kılınç Gürtuna, General Manager of IBM Türkiye, for a panel titled “Scale and Collaboration: The Keys to the New Equilibrium,” moderated by Oksijen columnist Elif Ergu.

During the panel, Prof. Tan discussed a range of topics, from the impact of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies on higher education to the business world’s evolving skills needs, entrepreneurship, and the future of production systems. He emphasized the growing importance of decision-making, project management, and interdisciplinary collaboration in the age of AI. He also underscored Özyeğin University’s commitment to integrating AI tools into education and leveraging the opportunities they offer for entrepreneurship.

Sharing his views on the future of production systems, Prof. Tan noted that small and medium-sized enterprises can strengthen their competitiveness through collaboration by developing joint production, procurement, and logistics processes. He cited the Solidarity and Advanced Mentorship Program for Women’s Cooperatives (KADİM) as a strong example of such collaboration. Developed jointly by Özyeğin University and the Eastern Black Sea Development Agency (DOKA), the program is designed to provide long-term mentorship support to women’s cooperatives for business development, branding, and market access, with the aim of strengthening collaboration among cooperatives and creating new opportunities to reach broader markets.
