International Open Access Week / Institutional Repository (eResearch@ozyegin)

Dear Library Users,

We are pleased to announce that the theme for this year’s International Open Access Week, to be held October 19-25, will be “The Cost of Knowledge”.

This year’s theme highlights the financial, human, and environmental costs of creating, sharing, and preserving knowledge. It raises an important question about the growing costs of accessing knowledge and the increasing influence of commercial interests on scholarly communication: Who bears the cost of knowledge, and who benefits from it? It also emphasizes the importance of making knowledge more equitable, accessible, and sustainable for the public good.

Open Access plays a vital role in reducing barriers to information by making research findings available to a wider audience. In doing so, it supports the free sharing of knowledge while increasing the impact of research and enhancing the academic visibility of researchers and institutions.

Established in line with these principles, Özyeğin University's Institutional Repository (eResearch@ozyegin) collects, preserves, and provides access to the scholarly publications of OzU researchers in accordance with international standards and copyright requirements. Managed by Özyeğin University Library, the continuously growing repository helps make scholarly knowledge accessible to a wider audience worldwide.

You can find detailed information about Open Access and Open Science in the Institutional Repository Libguide.
