The OzU team garnered a lot of attention with their electrical buggy design during TÜBİTAK’s competition “Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle”
Our team of master’s and bachelor’s degree students attended the 14th Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle competition organized by the Science and Society Department of the Scientific And Technological Research Council Of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) with their ElectroBuggy project. The OzU team successfully passed the safety and technical tests and qualified to attend the challenge. This was the first time a team from OzU has ever competed in the Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle. The OzU team ranked second with their electric buggy concept among the teams that competed in the challenge for the first time.
The OzU team made up of master’s and bachelor’s degree students successfully passed the vehicle safety and technical tests among 89 registered teams, and thus qualified to compete in the 14th Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle on August 10, 2018 as one of the 39 qualifying teams. This was the first time a team from OzU has ever competed in TÜBİTAK’s Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle competition. Our team drew a lot of attention both from other participants and media.
The OzU team ranked second with its electric buggy concept among the universities that competed for the first time in the competition. The team placed 18th in energy efficiency among all participants and thus took its first step towards its future successes.
The electric buggy project was brought to life with the financial support of TÜBİTAK and our University’s Faculty of Engineering. The project will be used for academic and research purposes throughout the year.
