The Macroeconomic Risk and Hedge Fund Returns paper of Dr. Mustafa Çağlayan has been accepted for presentation at the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Financial Management Association International to be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Conference Center in Nashville, Tennessee on October 15 - 18, 2014. 

This year, nearly 1,400 papers were submitted for consideration. Each paper was reviewed anonymously by at least two members of the Program Committee and, given the large number of submissions; the inclusion of Dr. Mustafa Çağlayan's paper is clear evidence of its contribution to the program. We sincerely congratulate Dr. Çağlayan on this outstanding achievement and wish continued success in the future.

Dr. Çağlayan received his BA in Economics (1996) from Boğaziçi University and his PhD in Economics with a concentration in Finance (2000) from The Graduate Center, at the City University of New York (CUNY). He worked at JPMorgan Chase Bank headquarters in New York as a Vice President in the Foreign Exchange Research group (2000-2006). He also worked as a Portfolio Manager at Millennium Partners Hedge Fund in New York (2006-2008).

Dr. Çağlayan's research interests include investments, hedge funds, portfolio theory and optimization, asset allocation, capital asset pricing models, currency valuation models, macro and monetary economics, time series econometrics, and international economics and finance. His current research focuses on macroeconomic risk and its predictive power on future hedge fund and mutual fund returns. His publications have appeared in the Journal of Financial Economics, Financial Management, Journal of Futures Markets, Journal of Portfolio Management, Journal of Global Optimization, and Brookings-Wharton Papers on Financial Services.

Dr. Çağlayan teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on fundamentals of financial management, investments, hedge funds, and macroeconomics.
